I am an artist of MaÌ„ori and Jèrriaise descent, working with lens based media, assemblage and installation to explore themes of genealogy, inheritance and place making.

Coming down through generations of artists, crafts people and agricultural smallholders, I position myself and work Ka mua, Ka muri - walking backwards into the future, informed by the past. In doing this I look to bring my cultural specificity with me whilst cultivating and maintaining new relationships within foreign landscapes.

In addition to my art practice, I am an adult educator, excellent gluten free baker and knowledgeable forager; regular 5km runner and enthusiastic cyclist. I enjoy taking my children and dog on adventures in the footsteps of Enid Blyton’s “Famous Five” and am known to rustle up water-side and forest snack-packs with the aid of my trusty leatherman.
